Legislative Picnic held at the Historic Jacobi Farm
On Tuesday, September 12th, the Jacobi family held a legislative picnic at the Historic home built by Mordecai Collins in the 1820's. Gary Jacobi was present as well as other Collins family decendents. Several state and local legislators and candidates for office came out to see Greenville. The legislative program was conducted by Purdue Extension office out of New Albany.
Some of the legislators present were Greenville Town Councilman Andy Lemon, Floyd County Commission (from Greenville) John Schellenberger, State Senator Ron Grooms, State Rep Karen Engleman, State Rep Ed Clere and some of the candidates for office were Anna Murray running for State Senate, Sam Charbonneau for State Rep, and Danny Short for Floyd County Council.
The program began with the group singing "Back Home Again In Indiana". The legislative program informed participants on subjects ranging from topics in agriculture all the way to community development topics.
